Our Cinderella Justice System
Another triumph for our super-efficient Justice System.
Last night, the High Court freed 26-year-old Jeffrey Finnegan of Rathvilly Drive in Finglas after ruling that his continuing detention was illegal. Finnegan was being questioned in connection with the murder of Donna Cleary.
Apparently, the warrant to extend Finnegan’s detention was issued 25 minutes after his original detention period expired.
No doubt the Guards will say it was the fault of the judge. And no doubt the judge will say it was the fault of the Guards.
One thing you can count on: nobody will ultimately be held to account. And the pantomime that is our Criminal Justice system will carry on regardless.
