Shock News: McDowell makes a good point!

Sorry about the break in transmission.  I had to get a new cat.  The old one was worn out.  Anyway, back to business…

I can't stand Michael McDowell.  Let me make that plain from the outset.  The man is an overbearing bully.  And he's a shite Justice Minister.  He simply does not know the meaning of accountability.

That said, he hit the nail on the head recently, (must've been an opposition nail), when he pointed out that everyone who uses drugs has a share of responsibility for the wave of gun crime sweeping the country.

Anyone using cannabis, coke, ecstasy etc. contributes to the problem.  The demand for drugs is fueling the crime wave.

If you're a user, even a "recreational" user, you're part of the problem.

Stupid fuckers.  Hope your brains rot.

    Here, here.
I once attempted to make a similar accusation to my recreational-drug using friends, but their narcotic addled minds could not grasp that they occupy a place in this sordid ladder of crime. The fiends!

  2. Strangler Says:

How do you feel about legalisation of soft drugs as a solution?

  3. knucklehead Says:

In theory it sounds okay. But who decides what’s ’soft’ and what’s not?

Let’s say you go ahead with it, but the UK doesn’t. That would be a signal for every gangster in creation to set up shop here and use it as a supply base for the huge UK market.

In any case, the problem would still remain with ‘hard’ drugs.

The fact remains that people who use illegal drugs are a major factor in the organised crime wave in this country, and as such their behaviour should be treated as criminal. Whether you like it or not, it is their drug use, their cash and their stupidity that ultimately fuels the drug trade.
